This month’s employee spotlight shines on Francis Penas, an experienced Truck Chief on the No. 45 team.

Frank joined Niece Motorsports as a mechanic in 2021 and was elevated to his current role at the start of the 2022 season. He has remained as the Truck Chief for Phil Gould’s team every year since.

Growing up in Silver Lake, MN, Frank always wanted to pursue a career in motorsports. After graduating high school in 2012, he moved to North Carolina to join Win-Tron Racing for his first gig in the ARCA Menards Series.

Once he departed the team at Win-Tron, Frank moved to JJL Racing, then later to ThorSport Racing and McAnally-Hilgemann Racing before joining our team.

Frank’s favorite racing memory is being a part of the team’s Championship 4 run in 2023 with Carson Hocevar. His favorite band is AC/DC, and he currently resides in Mooresville, NC.

Ever wondered what happens when a couple of crew chiefs and a PR rep climb behind the wheel of a school bus? We found out!

Crew Chiefs Wally Rogers and Landon Polinski, along with Niece Motorsports PR representative Leighton Sibille, put their driving skills to the test in the School Bus Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, July 28. From bumpers to bragging rights, the race delivered plenty of laughs and unexpected action.
