About Niece Motorsports: Niece Motorsports is a professional auto racing team that has competed in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series since 2016. Founded by United States Marine Corps Veteran Al Niece, the team is owned by Josh Morris of DQS Solutions and Staffing and the Fowler Family of J.F. Electric and Utilitra. At its 80,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Salisbury, NC, Niece Motorsports is a full-service race vehicle build shop as well as a customizable fabrication shop for any manufacturing needs.
Position Overview: The Body Hanger is responsible for the precise fitment, alignment, and mounting of body panels and components on NASCAR Truck Series chassis. This position plays a critical role in ensuring aerodynamic accuracy, consistency, and compliance with NASCAR templates and team standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically skilled, and passionate about building trucks that look as good as they perform.
Key Responsibilities
Hang, fit, and align body panels on NASCAR Truck chassis to meet team and NASCAR specifications.
Utilize measuring systems, body fixtures, and templates to achieve consistent and accurate fitment.
Perform trimming, drilling, welding, and fastening for final body installation.
Collaborate with engineers, finish fabricators, and painters to ensure proper clearance, finish, and presentation.
Verify that all components meet aerodynamic and safety requirements.
Assist in repair, rebuild, and rehang processes as needed after race weekends.
Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and adherence to safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 3+ years of experience hanging NASCAR Truck, Xfinity, or Cup Series bodies (or similar high-level racing experience).
Proficiency in measuring, fitting, and aligning body components using NASCAR-approved tools and templates.
Strong understanding of NASCAR body regulations and compliance standards.
Skilled in TIG/MIG welding, metal trimming, and fabrication processes.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience using body scanning and measuring systems (e.g., Romer Arm, Faro).
Knowledge of aerodynamic effects and body shape optimization.
