- Recapping Dover: Andrés Pérez de Lara and the Precision Vehicle Logistics De Mexico team brought a fast Chevrolet to Dover, but flat tires derailed their finish. Pérez de Lara started off strong with his second top-10 qualifying run of the season in ninth-place. He was in position for a solid outing, but picked up a vibration and was forced to pit under green with a flat right-front tire. The team had to make several stops throughout the remainder of the race and came home in 28th-place.
- Driver Points Outlook: Pérez de Lara’s 28th-place finish at Dover kept him sitting in 15th-place in the driver point standings. Heading into Charlotte, Pérez de Lara is 40 points below current Chase cutline driver, Tyler Ankrum. He is 29 points behind Justin Haley in 14th-place, and is tied with Tanner Gray for 15th.
- Crew Chief Milestone: Friday’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 will mark Wally Rogers’ 200th-career start as a crew chief in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. Rogers has been a mainstay in the sport since the mid-1990’s, and has been an integral part of Niece Motorsports since 2020.
- Quoting Pérez de Lara: What are some key characteristics to watch out for at Charlotte?
“The bumps on the entry of turn three and turn four are very noticeable at Charlotte. It’s one of the most fun mile-and-a-half tracks we have because there are so many options on where to run at that place. Niece Motorsports has been really strong here the past couple of years, so I’m really excited about this weekend’s race. I feel like I know my way around this track; I qualified on the pole here in an ARCA car and had a shot at winning the race a couple of years ago, so I’m feeling pretty confident that we can have a good result on Friday night with our Acceptance Chevy.”
