- On the Truck: Pérez de Lara's No. 44 Chevrolet Silverado RST will race with support from Telcel, a Mexican telecommunications giant, along with associate partners, Claro and Infinitum.
- Recapping Talladega: Andrés Pérez de Lara and the Acceptance Insurance team had a promising run go awry early in Talladega. Pérez de Lara rolled off from the 25th position, but made quick work to climb inside the top-10 in stage one. Just as he was pushing the middle lane forward with a couple of laps remaining in the first stage, the truck in front of him blew a tire which caused “the big one”. With nowhere to go, Pérez de Lara slammed into the outside wall and was done for the day. He was relegated to a 31st-place finish.
- Driver Points Outlook: Pérez de Lara’s crash in Talladega dropped the driver two positions in the driver point standings, now shown in 16th overall. With two races left in the season, Pérez de Lara sits 24 points behind Brenden Queen in 15th, and 68 points ahead of Corey Heim in 17th.
- Quoting Pérez de Lara: You qualified inside the top-10 here last year but didn’t have a chance to see it through after getting wrecked early. What is your mindset returning to Martinsville this weekend?
“Yeah, last year, Martinsville definitely stung after having such a good potential for the night and getting all of that damage so early. I feel like this is a track that is good for my driving style because it is similar to what I grew up racing in Mexico. I’m really confident heading into this weekend because I feel like our short track program has been very good. We’ve struggled at times, but all of the guys on the No. 44 team have worked hard to get it going right for us. There is going to be a lot of intensity on the line with the Chase drivers, so hopefully we can take advantage of that and get a good result.”
