Driver: Tyler Reif | Crew Chief: Landon Polinski
- Reif Returns: Tyler Reif will round out the season racing the No. 42 Utilitra Chevrolet in both Martinsville and Homestead-Miami. Reif, who has served as the team’s ‘anchor driver’ this season, has a best finish of 12th-place at North Wilkesboro. Though Phoenix didn’t go as planned, Reif looks to make headway in his first Martinsville start.
- Reif’s Martinsville Stats:
Tyler Reif will make his first-career NCTS start at Martinsville on Friday.
- Polinski's Martinsville Stats:
NCTS Starts: 1; Best Finish: 27th (2025).
- On the Truck: Reif’s No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado RST will race with primary support from Utilitra, a company which specializes in utility and technology solutions.
- Recapping Talladega: Conner Jones and the Niece Equipment team were having a solid outing in Talladega before being collected in a multi-truck crash. Jones started the 225-mile race in 28th and played it smart in the opening two stages. After finishing 12th in stage one, Jones was dealt a pit road speeding violation and had to restart from the tail of the field. He drove the truck back up inside the top-15 in stage two, and continued to gain experience, setting up for the final stage. On lap 57, Jones made contact with another truck in front of him and was sent spinning down the backstretch. His truck was heavily damaged and could not complete the race, resulting in a 27th-place finish.
- Owner Points Outlook: Jones’ crash in Talladega dropped the No. 42 team one position in the owner point standings. Entering Martinsville, the team is currently posted 25th overall, six points behind Rackley W.A.R.’s No. 26 Chevrolet in 24th, and 21 points ahead of Kaulig Racing’s No. 25 team in 26th.
- Quoting Reif: You had a good run in North Wilkesboro earlier this year, so how are you feeling about returning to a short track in Martinsville this weekend?
“I’m super excited to race at Martinsville. Growing up on the short tracks and bull rings like this back home on the West Coast, I feel like this track should suit my driving style a lot more than any of the other tracks. I have some laps around here and was pretty good in the late model before we had an issue in the heat race, so I feel pretty confident. I just need to qualify better and see how the race goes from there. I’m thankful to have Utilitra on our truck and hope to give them a good run on Friday night.”
