- First Timers: Niece Motorsports will field three rookies set to make their track debuts at Kansas this weekend. Connor Hall, Parker Eatmon, and Landen Lewis will each make their first starts on a mile-and-a-half track on Saturday, having raced primarily on short tracks throughout their young careers.
- Welcome Race Fans: The organization will host its second annual Fan Day event on Thursday, October 8 leading into the fall Charlotte race weekend at its home base in Salisbury, NC. The event, which is free to attend, will be open to the public and will feature a driver autograph session, partner activation displays, merchandise/food sales, a special paint scheme reveal, shop tours, and a live show on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. - On the Truck: Pérez de Lara's No. 44 Chevrolet Silverado RST will race with support from Telcel, a Mexican telecommunications giant, along with associate partners, Claro and Infinitum.
- Recapping Bristol: Andrés Pérez de Lara and the BLAC / GoKartMania Academy team rebounded from early challenges to end with a decent result in Bristol. Starting in 27th-place, Pérez de Lara passed a handful of trucks to move into 21st for both stage one and stage two. With a blistering pace set by the leaders, the No. 44 lost two laps in the opening stages, but was able to get back on the lead lap through strategy calls. Pérez de Lara worked hard to pick up track position late, resulting in a 17th-place finish.
- Driver Points Outlook: Pérez de Lara’s 17th-place result at Bristol dropped him one position in the driver point standings to 15th overall. Ahead of Kansas, the driver of the No. 44 Chevrolet is five points behind Brendan Queen in 14th, and is currently tied with Tanner Gray who is scored in 16th.
- Honoring Cancer Heroes: The No. 44 truck will carry the names of two very special passengers on board this weekend as a part of the Honor a Cancer Hero program organized by The NASCAR Foundation and AdventHealth.
Riding along the driver’s side door will be Mary Mills, a woman from El Cajon, CA, who fought colon and brain cancer for several years. Sadly, after entering remission, her cancer returned and she passed away in January, 2009. Mills was nominated by her son, Anthony, who is a close friend of Thomas Aaron, the engineer on the No. 44 team. He chose to have his mother ride along with Pérez de Lara because he believes the team embraces the same ‘never quit’ attitude that Mary had.
Riding along the passenger’s side door will be Clifford Remlin from Bethel, CT, who has beaten colon cancer on two separate occasions. Remlin, a longtime fan of the team, was nominated by his brother, Wayne, who will attend the race with the No. 44 team. He chose to ride on this truck specifically because he turned 44 years old this year.
- Quoting Pérez de Lara: Kansas is a track where the team has been historically successful at, and your team has been quick at the intermediate tracks this year. What do you need to have another good run this weekend?
“I’m really looking forward to head to Kansas in a Niece Motorsports truck. Our team has shown a lot of speed in those types of tracks, and I’ve never raced with the No. 44 team here before. I’m ready to get back onto the bigger tracks after having a bunch of short tracks in a row, and hopefully we can execute all race long. You have to run close to the wall there, which I really enjoy doing. I’m confident that we will have speed there this weekend and can build off the team’s prior success with our Telcel Chevy.”
